Excerpt from my new project!

This is a little excerpt from a new story that I’m writing, and I felt like sharing it because I really quite like it!

He looked out to the sea.  Where is my mind? I had one, once.  But I lost it somewhere out there.  Now, it has probably washed up on the shore of a distant land, and without so much as the North Star to guide me, I cannot find it.

Despair tugged at him, and he fell to the ground, his head in his hands.  He wept, his shoulders shook and he wondered how the world did not collapse around him.  There was a hole in his chest where his son had been, and blood in his mind.  The fountain of desolation was black, corpselike.  It consumed him from the inside.

But still, the world went on.

The ocean, indifferent, curled up on the sand.  The breeze blew through his hair, reassuring, almost.  The mountains did not move and the birds continued to sing.

The universe inside him was on the brink of destruction, and yet…the world went on.

Welcome!

My blog is a space for me to mainly publish my poems and short stories, which are usually the result of me ruminating on a thought or feeling as I seek to understand it.
